Week 6: Finishing Mount and Testing DC Motor
Objectives:
- Create a support for the skull
- Test out the DC Motor with various types of batteries.
Obviously, the skull and DC motor can't just hang off of anything so we had to connect it to a pole that will go through the skeleton. The method was simple - we super glued the DC motor onto a pole and for extra security, we also added two zip ties around the DC motor and the pole. This is shown in Figures 1 and 2.

Afterwards, we did a simple spin of the skull just to make sure the skull spins around without hitting anything. After confirming it worked, we tested it out with all sorts of batteries and combinations of batteries. We tested it out with 6 Volt Batteries, we also tested it out by connecting 1.5V double A batteries together. In the end, we came to a conclusion that the 6V batteries are the best.
